Aldouran Wetland Garden is a wetland habitat and bird hide on the edge of Leswalt village. Aldouran is a community garden, maintained by volunteers and free to visit.

The Garden hosts around 8000 visits per year, of which a high proportion take place in the wetter months. The Garden hosts school and other group visits. Previously, visiting groups would leave if it began to rain. Similarly, garden volunteers had nowhere to rest or to shelter when working in the garden in poor weather.

Aldouran Wetland Garden was awarded £6,800 by the Kilgallioch Community Fund to purchase and install an outdoor building for use by visiting school groups and volunteers. The building will provide shelter and also serve as an outdoor classroom for education sessions with visitors on environmental issues.

This project fitted well with the priorities of the fund, e.g. improving quality of life, capacity building, community spirit, building assets and promoting culture and natural heritage.
